What is POS rank in fantasy baseball? ›

Pos." is the player's eligible position(s). Position eligibility is determined based upon a minimum of 20 games, otherwise any position the player played at least 25% of the time, in 2023. "Pos. Rank" is the player's ranking at his ESPN primary position.

Head-to-Head: Points

It allows you to assign a given point value to individual statistic categories (i.e. HR=4, RBI=1, etc.) and each scoring period's winner is determined solely by which team accumulates the most fantasy points versus a single opponent. The end result is a win (1-0-0), loss (0-1-0) or tie (0-0-1).

Batting Average on Balls in Play (BABIP)

BABIP is the most commonly used advanced statistic in baseball. Simply, it measures a player's batting average on all non-home run balls they put in play. BABIP is commonly used as a "luck" statistic.

OPRK. Opponent Rank shows how a player's upcoming NFL opponent performs against that player's position. Low numbers mean it may be a tough opponent; high numbers an easier opponent. %ST. Start Percentage shows the number of fantasy leagues a player is started in divided by the number of leagues he is eligible in.

Each team's Strength of Schedule (SOS) displays the relative ease or difficulty of their matchups for the season. SOS is based on each opponent's Fantasy Points Allowed to a position, adjusted for strength of schedule.

When selecting batters for your fantasy baseball team, it's crucial to focus on those projected to have a high number of plate appearances. The more opportunities a player has at the plate, the greater their chances of collecting points through hits, walks, and other offensive contributions.
